Lewis & Clark Library Grand Re-Opening Planned!
July 27, 2021 (Helena, MT)— For over 150 years the Lewis & Clark Library has steadfastly served the people of Lewis and Clark County through fires, economic depressions, remodels, and even pandemics. The remodel is now complete at the Main branch and staff is excited to welcome everyone back to the Library!
On Thursday, August 12th the Library will host a grand re-opening to celebrate the culmination of over a year-long remodel process. Festivities will begin at 1PM with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Staff will provide tours of the newly reconfigured library space throughout the afternoon with the day of celebration concluding with the Director’s Cut movie viewing in Anchor Park at dusk.
From new Community Rooms and study rooms, to an innovative Discovery Room and reconfigured Children’s and Teen area’s, the Library’s new look features state of the art technology, open airy spaces, and lots of natural light. “We are so thrilled to welcome people back into the Library. I think the community will be pleasantly surprised by the changes to the interior space, beginning with new entry and inviting art displays,” stated Lewis & Clark Library Director John Finn.
Beginning August 9th, the Library will be open Monday thru Friday 10AM-8PM, Saturday and Sunday 1-5PM. Some in-person programs will also resume in addition to more public computers being available for patron use.
