Special Guest for March Library Card Madness @ Your Lewis & Clark Library!

March 1, 2016, (Helena, MT)—It’s March Madness @ Your Lewis & Clark Library…March Library Card Madness that is and Your East Helena Branch is hosting Nashville recording star Jason DeShaw.

Montana native DeShaw has toured Europe, Canada, and the US opening for acts such as Little Big Town and the Oakridge Boys. In addition to writing original country music and performing, DeShaw is an inspirational speaker sharing his experience living with bipolar disorder and alcoholism. In 2014, DeShaw was awarded the Champions Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness during a special ceremony in Washington D.C. The award recognizes an individual with a mental illness who reduces stigma by “exhibiting courage, leadership and service on behalf of people with mental illness.” DeShaw tells his story of struggle, triumph, and recovery in Serenity in the Storm.

DeShaw will be at the Lewis & Clark Library East Helena Branch on Thursday, March 17th for a special performance of his story and music. Local artist and musician Curtis Helvey will entertain the audience with a couple of tunes before introducing DeShaw. The program begins at 3:15 and refreshments will be served.

While the program is geared towards young people and teens, the event is free and open to everyone. Join us on St. Patrick’s Day at 3:15 PM for this once in a lifetime performance from Montana musician, cowboy, and advocate Jason DeShaw!
